Built by the Etruscans between the 7th and 3rd Centuries BC, this is a fascinating and atmospheric sight with tombs lining narrow paths and streets over 10 hectares. There are around 400 tombs varying in structure, each constructed with creativity and care, stone beds are carved with pillows and walls feature painted reliefs. The intrepid can enter tombs with a torch. Around 20 minutes from La Posta Vecchia.
It is also possible to make this visit on horseback, riding out from Ranch Ferretti, and onwards for a picnic by waterfalls.
